The Partnership and St. Joseph Hospital sponsored a free Health Fair at the Julian Smith Casino on March 12, 2003 to mark the "National Cover the Uninsure Week (March 10 -16, 2003)". Representatives from the University Health Care System, St. Joseph Hospital, and Medical College of Georgia Health Care System were present to administer an assortment of free health screenings that included: diabetes screenings, cholesterol screenings, blood pressure checks and body fat measurements. The Richmond County Health Department provided diet, nutrition, and women's health information. The Department of Children and Family Services provided information and applications for Medicaid and Peachcare. Other agencies such as the Neihborhood Improvement Project, 30901 Development Corporation, United Way of the CSRA, St. Vincent De Paul Homeless Clinic, Men's Health, Ask-A-Nurse, The Senior Citizens Council, The Family Counselling Center and The Richmond County Project Access provide information about health care services and other resources available to the uninsured/underinsured within the Central Savannah River Area.

 

The Partnership in collaboration with the Neighborhood Improvement Project, 30901 Developement Corporation, St. Joseph Hospital and other local community agencies sponsored the "Walk for the Uninsured" on May 15, 2004 to mark the "National Cover the Uninsured Week (May 10-16, 2004)". This event took place at Lake Olmstead, from 9AM-11AM.
